Meet Lacey! Graduating senior from The University of Oklahoma! We had a lot of fun snapping photos all over OU’s campus, and we even got to make our way to OKC! Photographing in Midtown was excellent… there’s so much to work with as far as colors and textures go. And just look at those gorgeous autumn trees! I absolutely love it! And given that Lacey’s favorite season is autumn, we couldn’t have picked a better time for her senior portraits.
What an honor it was to take my beautiful friend’s bridal portraits! Cobi was absolutely stunning, and we couldn’t have been luckier to snag this amazing location in Oklahoma City. It was such a fun morning!
Her grandmothers jewelry incorporated into her bouquet of antique hydrangeas.
I love when clients find ways to incorporate special things into their portraits, like this bench Cobi’s grandfather made her.
Cobi’s sweet pup, Nemo! I’m dying!! Every girl needs her dog in some of her bridal photos!
A big thank-you to KRK Studios rental space for the excellent location!
Meet Leslie and Morgan of Leslie Herring Events! Leslie is a dear friend who owns and operates a successful wedding planning business that serves couples from New York to Texas and everywhere in between!
I believe it’s so important to have professional photos taken for your marketing and social media content photography. It helps maintain a cohesive brand across all your platforms –– website, business cards, Instagram, Facebook, magazine ads and more.
A styled shoot for your marketing purposes doesn’t need to be over-thought or overdone. It’s important to stick to a particular look and feel, and not stray outside your brand’s parameters. Consistency in content photography is key!
Being able to answer these simple questions can help you get an idea of where to aim when dreaming up a styled photo shoot:
What is your brand’s color scheme and overall look?
When potential clients or customers see your brand’s Instagram or website, what do you want them to a.) feel about you, and b.) learn about you?
If you were to describe your brand in three words, what would they be?
Want to brainstorm a styled shoot for your blog, brand or business? Or maybe you’ve already been dreaming up ways to create consistency across your marketing platforms and you’re ready to make those dreams become a reality! Reach out to me, and let’s make it happen!
How fortunate I am to know this family! Lori (that beautiful woman in the middle with the adorable mauve-colored cardigan) is my "boss" at The Flower Shop, where I spend the other half of my time when I'm not out on portrait shoots and editing at my computer. I put the word boss in quotes because Lori is unlike any boss there is. She's family! Our team at the shop is like family, and Lori is our supporter, cheerleader, advocate, shoulder to cry on, daily dose of happy, prayer warrior, and so much more. Her lovely family is her number one in life, right behind her true number one which is Jesus. She and her husband, Larry, run The Flower Shop together, and I am so extremely blessed to work for them! They gathered their family together in their back yard on a gorgeous November evening to capture a little bit of real life together. Some photos are posed and some aren't. Some tried to be and it didn't work but I snapped the camera anyway! Because this session was about capturing a family in all their moments – not just their "perfect" ones. Look close enough and you'll see some funnies! But it doesn't take much to see that this is a family that loves BIG.
I had such an exciting time photographing Baylee! She's graduating from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma this December, and she decided to commemorate the milestone with senior photos in her hometown of Norman. I loved spending the evening with Baylee and learning about her many endeavors, including studying in France and interning for the U.S. Senate! It didn't take much for me to know that this girl is gonna go places in life! Baylee is extremely kind, driven, and is a joy to be around. She's also a dog lover, and when I found out she wanted photos taken with her pup, Maizey, I was of course super pumped! Congrats to Baylee on her upcoming graduation!!
Bridal portraits aren't something I often get the pleasure of doing since I don't photograph weddings (yet!) so when I was asked to take pictures for Clytee I was so excited!
The Friday evening of Clytee's portrait session had called for rain all week, so I did a ton of research for possible indoor or covered locations in OKC to do her shoot. Friday rolled around and after all that research – and creating a pretty lengthy list of location options! – the sunshine was beaming and weather could not have been better! We ended up at our friend's home in Gaillardia Country Club and it was the perfect place for a bridal session!
Also perfect, Clytee's stunning dress and romantic hairdo! I just love all the intricate detail of her gown. Clytee was absolutely stunning on this day and even more so on her wedding day!
Clytee's now husband, Bear, is lifelong friends with my husband, Drew. Drew had the pleasure of getting to film their wedding day and I can't wait for the video to come out! (I'll be sharing it here when it's finished!) Their wedding was so incredibly sweet and their vows were extremely thoughtful. I had tears in my eyes the whole time!
Clytee is one of the sweetest souls. She is kind, thoughtful, puts others before herself and is also so chill and laid back! She's one of those people who being around makes you so relaxed. After our session, my husband and I got to have dinner with Clytee, her mom, and her mother-in-law. We had such a great time getting to know each other, laughing, talking wedding plans and also talking about Clytee growing up in the country. Maybe that's where she gets her laid-back personality!
This bridal portrait session was so much fun! Thank you, Clytee, for having me document part of this special time in your life! You're a gem!
